The above quote is attributed to our yeoman warder from the Tower the other day. Awesome.
Yesterday was a rest day of sorts, and I spent the morning and early afternoon walking down Portobello Road with Mallory. I bought a couple of pashmina scarfs (I will learn to wear them this time around, and they're cool), two necklaces, and a pair of sunglasses (because mine broke on the plane. Tragic.) Mallory also had a successful shopping day - I just count myself a success that I resisted a very wonderful dress.
Post Portobello time was mostly spent reading homework and taking a nap (and looking through Time Out and finding out that Band of Horses is going to be here next week. Oh my gosh. I need to figure out how to get to that concert.)
In the evening, we went to an Eritrean restaurant for a communal, hands-on dining experience. It was awesome. The food was really different buy very good, and the waiter/owner guy was making darn sure that we had a good educational and cultural experience, including making us learn the capitol of his country - Asmara, if you're interested.) Words can't really explain, so I have pictures.
When we came home, Erin shared something glorious with me. West Bank Story. Miri, you definitely should look this up, and everyone else should too. I think it's in several installments on YouTube, and it's funny - West Side Story on the West Bank in about 20 minutes.
I spent the late evening in the sitting room playing Psychiatrist, which was hilarious.
Today I got another calling in my ward - I'm now not only the pianist but also an assistant nursury leader. Nothing like adorable British babies. Tonight John and Susan Tanner are coming to dinner and giving a fireside, which should be pretty cool. High profile guests at the Centre, eh?
P.S. if you aren't on facebook and want to see my other pictures, here's my first album:

Were the greens super salty? They look suspiciously like the greens of my mission... could be anyway. Also, I love the hand-eating.
So glad I found your blog! I missed you at our movie nights, but it really wasn't the same once Kellie started going home for the week. I hope London is all that you hoped and wished it to be!
I loved Portobello Road! I found some lovely things to eat there as well as some fabulous prints. Oh, and I bought a pashmina scarf in Paris that I never did learn how to wear.
